Overview | Contributing | What to Bring | What is Provided

Short-term guests passing through are expected to make financial contributions and/or a work-exchange arrangment can be made. We are currently unable to provide food for visitors without financial contribution. This is all done on a case-by-case basis.

People interested in becoming community members are invited to read the materials at the Community of Healers web site, especially the Community Practices and also fill out the Questionnaire.

Contributing:

Lavender Sky Ranch is a community environment, and thus everyone needs to contribute to the financial and physical needs of the ranch and it's members.

Financial Contributions - At this time, a minimum financial contribution to cover one's food is needed.

Cleaning up after yourself - tidying your stuff, doing your own dishes and putting them away, emptying any containers of your own such as trash, #1, #2, etc. This is not actually a contribution but more of a minimum requirement for all visitors unless these are exchanged for additional financial contributions.

Labor Contributions:

Visitors and members are expected to contribute at least 10 hours / week of labor that benefits the community unless they are making otherwise negotiated financial contributions. Most people contribute quite a bit more. This is just a stated bare minimum.

Cleaning up group stuff - cleaning shared areas such as kitchen, dishes and putting them away, floors, bathroom, etc., emptying shared containers such as trash, compost, recycling, water #1, #2, etc. Unless there is someone dedicated to these tasks, this is something that each person needs to do their share of. So this could be either a contribution or just part of cleaning up after yourself.

Providing for basic community daily needs - gardening, collecting / cutting firewood, sifting sawdust, shopping, cooking group meals, feeding animals.

Maintenance of shared facilities - roof repairs, roads, driveway, trimming trees, etc.

Expansion of shared facilities - construction, fence, planning, etc.

Providing for community financial needs - doing work that directly brings money into the community.

Healing work - providing healing work for community members as guided and/or is requested. This is done as we are led.
